Recently I've been really wishing it would rain. Last night the sky got cloudy and we even saw a few dribbles as we concluded our family walk. This morning Tommy noted that the humidity index on the thermometer was 67% and it's been only about 17% for the past weeks!
The land in our backyard is DRY and ready to soak up some moisture!
You are probably wondering what this has to do with world peace, or you.
It's been part of my most recent reflections. You see I've been taught since I was a child that growing experiences are the stuff of life. We can be aware that God allows them to happen. Recently, however, I have come to see that the faster I can learn lessons the faster these growth experiences move away. I've even seen years with less struggles, both presently and reviewing my past. I have not, however, wished or desired for the struggles to end. If so life would be like our land, dry and ready for new growth.
I am learning to have greater peace with moments that cause me to grow and stretch. I STOPPED FIGHTING what I didn't like and I'm fighting for what I DO WANT.
I have pondered what this means for the world.
How we could use this principle to transition into a world of peaceful resolution.
I know the prophecies of doom, gloom and Armegedon. I just can't help but wonder if some of us will be spared because we have created such peace around us (for ourselves, our families and our tribes) that we don't even notice, or aren't even touched by the evils that swirl.
Whether that is right or not, what I DO know is that by finding greater peace within myself, there is greater peace in my family and my community. I believe that this will spread and create a butterfly effect for others across the glob. So I'm encouraging all I know to seek for greater peace in their lives. A few less moments yelling at the kids, a few more peaceful reactions to what used to disturb us.
I know it will bring you greater joy and prepare our world for total world peace!
Love and Prayers,
Marian
